Getting to St. Lucia takes two days from California. Today I'm off to Florida, and tomorrow morning I'll take a flight from Florida to St. Lucia. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely thrilled to be getting a free trip to a tropical island. Briefcase's company is paying for a limo to take us to and from LAX and they've upgraded our seats to business class. That should make me happy ….
However, getting to Florida from Orange County makes for a long ass day, and tomorrow I'll have another three hour flight from Florida to Saint Lucia. If you know me at all, you know I hate to fly.
I suppose almost everyone hates traveling these days with the long lines, security checks, and the fact the airlines have taken away our little bag of free peanuts. Add to that, the fact I nearly died on a flight into Dallas several years back and you've got a woman convinced of her certain impending death by airplane. By lunchtime tomorrow I'll be swimming in the Caribbean and drinking fruity concoctions with little umbrellas. I'll have completely forgotten about my impending death until I board the plane(s) for my return flights.
I'm taking my Blackberry with me so, guess what? I'll hopefully be reading your comments and emails while I'm away. I won't however, be emailing anyone back unless there's some type of blog emergency while I'm gone. If my workaholic husband can put his work aside for a few days, I figure I can try to set aside my writing too.
Who am I kidding? I'll be taking notes on cocktail napkins and writing posts in my head the entire time.
I'm so excited for what I've lined up for you while I'm gone!
I hope you check in every day while I'm away because I really worked hard to make it great, fantastic, and wonderful for you while I'm
drunk swimming getting laid gone. I've got some of my favorite people in the world guest posting. They've all got completely different writing styles. It's a great chance for you to become acquainted with some writers you may not know about and I would be shocked if you didn't love each and every one of them.
Honestly? They're fantabulous!
I'll be back before the end of next week. I'm being vague about the exact date because our flights home are a little sketchy and if one of them is delayed even by five minutes it could make a difference as to what day I return. I'll probably send out Tweets on Twitter while I'm gone, but no guarantees as I'm not sure how reliable my Internet access will be.
Have a great week! Send lots of love to my guest writers!
