Yesterday found me spending a good part of the day in both Huntington and Newport Beach.
I've really overbooked myself for the month of March, and this week is the worst week of all. If I told you everything I need to do this week, all the places I need to be, and how all the times overlap impossibly, you'd become dizzy just hearing about it.
It makes my head spin.
It also stresses me out.
Just to give you the tip of the ice berg ….
My oldest son is home from college for the week and, of course, I want to spend time with him.
My youngest son has six (!!) afternoon/evening baseball games in an eight day period.
(Baseball is not a fast sport, by the way. Can you say "time suck"????)
My daughter is home for two to three days this week also.
My youngest is having a birthday on Wednesday.
My husband is leaving to go out of town on business.
I have three appointments with the Fat Melting Machine this week. (It is not located anywhere near my house! I just love those long commutes on Southern California freeways.)
The Plastic Surgery Party is Thursday night.
And there is, oh so much, more!
Who scheduled this insanity?
Oh wait, I did …..
To be fair, my son coming home for spring break was a last minute decision. I was already all booked up when I found out he had changed plans and was coming home. Then my daughter heard her brother would be home and decided to make a trip home too.
I'm glad they're here, but frustrated I have so many locked in commitments preventing me from really enjoying the week.
For instance, yesterday I was at the beach. I was there doing birthday-related errands for my youngest. My feet were inches from the sand, but there was no time to enjoy it.
Oh! The frustration!
So close, and yet so far ……
