The Joys of Childhood

Orange County has its faults, but there are some wonderful memories to be made for those who grow up here.

Even though we live on a coastal state, it’s a five hour drive for us to get to an ocean beach. Love the beach but when I’m away from the sight of mountains I miss them. But that water of yours on the west coast is phenomenal as well.

Thankfully most people feel as you and I do. Absolutely no place is perfect to live, so people adapt to the negative aspects and never stray far from what they feel is home. (*Home* representing family, love, and a safe place to land.) That is a goood thing too, or we would all be stacked like firewood, crawling over each other like ants.
The Blue Ridge Gal took the words right out of my head. I too LOVE the beach but I know in my heart that I wouldn’t be happy if I wasn’t surrounded by my lush, green mountains. People are wonderful but when you are raised where everyone has space, & no bumper to bumper traffic, it is almost impossible to adapt to anything else and be happy. 😉
Life is Good! I believe that our main job in life is finding happiness where ever we are planted.

I am so grateful we live here and get to raise our crew so close to the beach. Our very BEST memories are at Newport.

Oh my gosh but that is beautiful! I do feel blessed though living in Portland I’m just an hr-hr &1/2 away from the mountains or the beach. Stupid of me not to take advantage of it more often.
