* Every year my friend, Neil, hosts the biggest holiday concert in the blogosphere.  This year it's called Christmalhijrahanukwanzaakah and unites bloggers from all over the world and of many different faiths.  It's a joy to watch/listen to and I was amazed at all the talent participating.  I have no musical talent, so Neil was nice enough to add in one of my photos instead.  If you have a few minutes, I know you'll enjoy checking it out! *

A week or two ago, I was looking around on Etsy for gift ideas.  Of course, I didn't find what I was looking for.  (Isn't that the way it always goes?  When you're looking for a particular item it's nowhere to be found.)

My time wasn't completely wasted, though.

I found these adorable vintage salt and pepper shakers on Strictly Vintage.  I snapped them up before anyone else could.

I believe they're from either the 1920s or 1930s.

I smile every time I look at them.

Hi, I know this is terribly late, but ran across your blog and am enjoying reading it and viewing your incrediable pictures.
I grew up in OC, spent many a day on Newport, Laguna, Hunington beaches.
Also, the picture of the santa and mrs. claus s&p caught my eye. I have the same exact one. It belonged to my mother and she bought it in Orange at a discount store in the very early 70’s.
Thought you might want to know it’s real age. I adore mine and was I ever surprised to see another set like it.
    Take care.
