I had plans for a creative give-away today.

I want to thank all of you for hanging in there with me during my fifteen days without a computer.  (But who's counting, right?)

I'm still doing a give-away, but the creativity part of the deal has been put on hold.

•  I didn't anticipate having to go up to L.A. for a very lengthy day yesterday.  (They really need to develop a high speed train from The OC . . . because SHEESH the traffic!)

•  I didn't anticipate having to take Briefcase to the hospital for some testing before dawn this morning.  (He's fine – his doc just had an early morning opening for some routine testing.)

•  I didn't anticipate having my bionic arm re-programmed incorrectly by Romeo's replacement this week.  (Romeo has left me … how could he?  Even funnier, Dr. Painless asked me if I felt like a jilted lover. Ha!)

Incorrect re-programming means my bionic arm isn't working – so ouch!!  Also, I suddenly have to re-arrange my week for a second trip for reprogramming.  Currently I get an error message informing me I've been corrupted … which would be hilariously funny if I wasn't in pain.

Also?  It's much more fun having Romeo stimulate me vs. his female replacement.

•  I didn't anticipate heading into a pain flare-up midday yesterday.  Such perfect timing since my electrodes are down and can't offset the pain.

Can YOU be creative while on Percocet?  Because I just see blurrrrrrrr…!

I will be doing some posts on potential gift ideas as the holidays approach.  If possible, I'll tie in a few more give-aways in the process.

For today,

I'm going to keep it simple but useful.

I'm offering up TWO $50 Amazon gift cards.

You can order almost anything from Amazon … books, music, food, home furnishings, cameras, photography equipment, etc.!!  You can also re-gift them for the holidays if you'd like.

I don't do "complicated" give-aways so here are my very simple rules:

  •  Every comment you leave counts as an entry.

  •  You may enter as many times as you'd like.

  •  You're only eligible to win ONE of the two gift cards.

  •  I'll pick the winners using Random Integer software.

  •  Entries will be closed at 8 pm Pacific time today, Thursday.

  •  Winners will be announced on Friday.

(Spam comments will be deleted and disqualified.)

Any comment will do, but if you're having trouble coming up with ideas –

I'd love to hear what's on your wish list for the holidays this year.

I’m sorry your bionic arm is acting up! I kinda chuckled at the “you’ve been corrupted” message!!
What an awesome giveaway! I have quite an ongoing wishlist over at Amazon…mostly books! I’m thinking a kindle might be on my wishlist this year!! Then I can read multiple books and not have a huge pile to carry around!

  2. Denise

I hope your pain calms down soon.
My Christmas list is covered since I ordered a new camera yesterday. But I LOVE Amazon and can always find new things I want.

  3. Linda

I’d put it towards a Kindle fire for my son for Christmas. Hope your flare up is brief. 🙁

  4. Jenn in Tenn

You’re corrupted….heh heh heh (makes me think of Beavis and Butthead)
I would love to get my daughter a new camera…she’s starting to really get interested in photography lately.

  5. Dawn P.

I always keep a wishlist on Amazon as the year goes by, but the one thing I wish I could have for Xmas can’t be found on any list. . . my mom. Lost her to cancer earlier this year and this will be the first Christmas without her. It’ll just never be the same again.

  6. Margie L.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I stumbled across your blog and love your pictures. I think I would want some baking supplies for Christmas. And some time to bake…

  7. Di

This giveaway is so sweet of you Suzanne! And this time of the year is perfect to be giving money away. I know exactly how I would spend it too. Hugs!
Hope the blurs are good blurs. 🙂

  8. Suebob

On my wish list…I really love experiences more than things, so a gift certificate to Bob Bondurant Stunt Driving School!

  9. Julie

Look at the brightside – Now you can secretly stalk Romeo and don’t have to worry about being caught!

  10. Liz T.

So glad you finally got a happy computer! I would be pleased to accept one of your gift cards if I am chosen for the honor. 🙂

  11. Toni

I would love a new lens for Nikon – I’m just getting reacquainted to more serious photography and would be a wonderful addition.
I hope that your Bionic arm gets sorted soon.
I really enjoy your work and love your little Twitter comments.

  12. Kay

“You’ve been corrupted”! Now that’s funny. Love your site and read every weekday!!! Thanks for the giveaway and hope you are feeling better soon.

  13. Missy

How could Romeo leave you? I hope your arm is better soon especially with Thanksgiving cooking coming up and I know you love to cook!

  14. Jenny in MN now in AZ

So, sorry your bionic arm isn’t working! I look forward to your pictures and posts everyday. Seeing your posts and twitter messages have been carrying me through some tremendous difficult days. Thanks for pushing through the pain to reach out to all of us. I hope you can get some relief soon!

  15. Trina Perry

I want a new camera, but with all the hints I gave last year and one didn’t appear, I reall doubt I will get one this year either unless I buy it myself. Which I just may have to resort to!
Hope you get feeling better soon, I am currently looking at scheduling to get my “bionic back & hip” put into place and I have only dared do it because you are so positive about it!

  16. Trina Perry

Oh yea, I forgot, You have really got to make sure Romeo doesn’t have a life past what you need–it really isn’t fair for him to have ANYTHING to do when you need him!! =)

  17. Linda

Actually, If I won a 50.00 gift from amazon I would probably spend it on new music for my husband for christmas. The kid just got a new iPod for his birthday…

  18. stacy

I could not get to yr site the last few days. I swear I was typing in the correct address but I kept getting a diagnose the problem page. Then today I finally thought to do a search and there you were. What the heck? Now, I get to catch up on my reading. Thanks for the entertainment.

  19. Asmita

I wish for one of the pictures you have for sale here. 🙂
I love the sunset one with a silhouette of a little girl.
    Thanks for the give away.

  20. Rachael

What I really want for Christmas, more than anything else, is a week at the beach this winter. I found a lovely little condo in a hi-rise directly on the beach at South Padre Island that is $450 for a week in the off season… now just need to make the hubby think it was HIS idea. LOL!!

  21. Rachael

My second choice would be a tablet, I’m waiting until enough of them have enough bugs worked out… don’t fancy being a beta tester haha.

  22. Rachael

3rd choice would be a nifty neato camera. I’m just a wanna-be but I do have a very good eye, just not enough spare time or discipline to devote myself to a second career. At this point my camera is so old.. well I just feel like a kid taking snaps when I use it. sigh.

  23. Rachael

I hope the de-corrupting goes well. That just does not sound pleasant! Have a great day!!

  24. Binks

Wow! Things have really changed in the blog world that I use to visit often.
If I could really get the wish I wanted, it would be more time in my day. Life gets in the way of all the fun I want to be having.

  25. angela

I actually want to be a cheerful and generous gift giver this year, so, if I win one of these cards, I will spend it on a gift for someone else.

  26. lewaletzko

Feel Better-I hope you next programming goes smoothly.
    LOL Corrupted…little do they know…

  27. Maura

I’m really sorry to hear that your arm is giving you such trouble, and to hear that Romeo left you high and dry. Men!
There’s not on my holiday wish list this year, much to the consternation of friends and family looking for gift ideas. I just have most everything I need.
The one thing I’d like, believe it or not, are Amazon gift cards to buy books for my Kindle! I’m trying to buy fewer physical books to not add to my clutter, but I love to read so much.

  28. Amy in StL

Sorry to hear about Romeo leaving you, that definitely sucks.

  29. Alexis (Minnesota)

    I wish for you a less-pain-filled year.
Who knows?! Just MIGHT happen! And, maybe, a little corruption now and then might be beneficial!

  30. DrLori71

If I win I’d love to buy myself something. But I’ll probably just end up buying more Legos for my boys lol.

  31. Ingrid in RSM

Your posts/blog crack me up. And then sometimes they make me cry. BTW – can’t decide if I want an iPad or Android tablet for Christmas. I’m conflicted!

  32. Fawn Mathers

Since I am going to be a poor college student in Portland, I hope that the gift giving gods shine down upon me. In the mean time, I will be soaking up the Southern California sun and sling tea.

  33. Christine

The only thing I can do while on Percocet is sleep. That stuff’s worse than Nyquil on me.
I’m hoping to finally buy a prime lens for my camera this Christmas. That’s probably it since I had to buy a whole freaking new computer. And a water heater. And a whole new HVAC system…’Tis the season!

  34. Karen in East Texas

An Amazon gift card would probably be used for another item on my wishlist which is books and/or ebooks. I’ve a long list of releases that I would love to have.

  35. Stephanie Z

I have books on my wish list. Not for me but for my Grandchildren. Although I might get one for myself. 🙂 I hope you get re-progammed soon!

  36. Annette

A new camera would be swell too! I’m not anywhere near the photographer that you are, but I do sometimes get a good shot.

  37. Katharina

Incidentally, your photo of “a beach fort” is on my wish list. I don’t think I can get it from amazon. But never mind. I’ll take what I can get!

  38. Dana

My wish list for this holiday is that my kids and hubby are ok with me going back to school. They are all willing to step up to the plate to help me out, it’s the motherly guilt that I would like to go away.

  39. gd

24, thanks for all the great posts. Your humor and photography never cease to amaze me!

  40. Annette

I am all for uncomplicated…life has enough complications as is!

  41. Annette

My wish for Christmas is for a relaxing couple of days off of work to enjoy with my kids. And lets throw in a happy new year too! This one has been a bugger!

  42. Linda M.

$50…could use it for my sons presents–1 wants legos, 1 wants an iPod touch and 1 wants another new camera. Or a lens. I’ve lost track. Could use it for my remote-controlled airplane hobbiest hubby. Or, I could get something for myself without feeling quite as guilty!!
By the way, I love, love your photographs! And where you live. Where I live it’s gray or dreary more often than not, so I really appreciate colorful pictures!!

  43. Amy Miller

My wish for Christmas is that we have a nice relaxing after Christmas trip to spend time with my kids!
Hope your arm feels better soon!

  44. Anne Gibert

This comment is not looking for a gift card. I just dropped in to say that I have been missing you because of my own miseries, and have not been reading my web friends’ blogs. My life is getting back to normal, so here I am once more, so sorry your arm has become unprogrammed, but hopefully it can be fixed. Hugs.

  45. Brenda Langham

Hope you feel better soon. My only Christmas wish is for my three grandsons to have a fabulous Christmas!

  46. Jane

Funny how many comments you get when you do a give away! I hope your arm gets reprogrammed soon and that you feel better. This Christmas, I’m giving Amazon Kindles. Easy and appreciated.

  47. Lucretia

I’m a big Amazon fangirl so I’ll enter. Hope you feel better soon.

  48. Major Bedhead

Oooh, I’d love to win this! I’ve been lusting after a Kindle and this would just about cover the cost.
Hope the pain dies down for you quickly.

  49. Jim Notto

I came here off your g+ post, and now that I’ve read this blog post, I know I’ve got to read more. There are so many blanks I need to fill in. What’s the story with the arm? Who is Romeo? Who is Briefcase? Now I’m off to rummage through your previous posts…

  50. Editdebs

I’m not sure what I want for Christmas, but I’d really like to get my son an iPod. His is only 2GB, and he needs for more room for all his tunes.

  51. Editdebs

Oh, and I hope you get your arm recalibrated soon! Sorry about Romeo.

  52. Annette

I like the way your comment section assigns a different graphic to each person responding – neat little trick! As for Christmas gifts from Amazon…video game or books for my younger daughter and jewelry/accessories for my older daughter.

  53. Deirdre

Hi! My wishlist is that our mortgage refinance goes through at the amount we are hoping for. If not, things are going to be rough here for Christmas. If so, we can add more to our list!

  54. Deirdre

So my dream list would include a trip to Paris, a macro lens, and a new tripod, among other things.

  55. Meg (@sleepynewmommy)

I’d love to win! Thanks for sharing with the G+ crowd!

  56. Denise

Some people seriously want to win. So do I. I need/want new Uggs because it just got colder and so did my feet.

  57. Annette

Percocet pretty much makes life bland. Hope you get re-programmed soon.

  58. Annette

    OOoohhh…something for my pets…a cat-tree-climby-thing…

  59. Pam

Why, oh why, do I log on to read my favorite blogs so late 🙁
    Auntie Pam

  60. Joy

I enjoy your pics on G+ and love the name of your blog! I would love to get a GoPro Hero2 for our active and adventurous family for Christmas 🙂

  61. Pam

I love for a lot of reasons. I just added something to my wish list there today to remind me when the grands ask what I want for Christmas. Today’s entry was a fat-separating measuring cup!
    Auntie Pam

  62. Pam

I really need to change and start reading my favorite blogs earlier in the day 🙁
