In the Summertime?

I turned our air conditioner on yesterday.

Don’t tell my husband, he’d kill me for “wasting money” during the first week in January.

It was hot in our little canyon yesterday.  My house gets full morning sun.  Once the house heats up in the morning, it only gets hotter and hotter until sundown.

My kids were complaining about the heat, so I turned the air on and said,

“Don’t tell your dad.”

Then I decided to write about it on the Internet because I’m such a good secret-keeper.

San Clemente pier.

My two oldest kids are still home (for assorted reasons), so we went to the beach for lunch.  My youngest (who’s in high school still) had to return to school yesterday.  I don’t think he was at all happy about missing out on our little outing.

My son, RC, took this photo of me at Fisherman’s restaurant on the San Clemente pier:

Me, yours truly – Twenty Four At Heart.

I love this time of year.

It seems like the weather is perfect,

And the sunsets ….?

Well, the sunsets could not be more beautiful.

People gather at the end of the San Clemente pier to watch the sunset.

Gorgeous, isn’t it?

I wish I could bottle it up and save it forever –

But I can’t.

Instead, I try my best to capture the beauty with my camera.

He’s about the same. Sleeping a lot, calmer than normal. It’s going to take a few days I think until we see any change. Thank you for asking!

Or bottle it and send it to this land-locked beach loving west coast transplant. Your beach pictures make me so beach sick (kinda like home sick without missing a home — just the beach). Thank you so much for sharing. And, how is that puppy doing today?

It makes me sad that you have sun when we have rain and damp…you’ve just taken the sparkle out of my eye…

What a great picture of you! And the sunset is spectacular. Here it’s wet windy and chilly. But next month I hope to be in New Zealand where it’s summer.

Thanks Anne! I’m so jealous of your New Zealand trips! I’m hoping to get there in about two years – once my youngest is done with high school!
