I’m glad this week is over!

Every day that goes by puts a little more distance between me and Surgery #9 which is a good thing.

I’ve spent most of my week in Newport Beach and that’s where I am again today.

Fingers crossed – I’m (once again?) hoping I get my stitches out today.

Yesterday, I had my first post-surgery physical therapy session with Paul Newman.

He seemed very happy with my hardware-free arm.

He pretended to be gentle and kind, but a few hours later I realized he tricked me because ouch!

I suppose this is where I need to clarify to everyone (Paul Newman included),

I am NOT carrying any photography gear yet.

I have *only* taken a couple photos.

I am allowing myself to heal.

There are a lot of things I want to DO in upcoming weeks so I really am trying to take it slow and mend.

Also …??

I might be getting a little too comfortable with Paul Newman because yesterday I yanked my pants down and asked,

“Do you want to see?”

Nothing I do fazes him.

(And yes, he did!)

I had a digestive ailment on holiday once. I’d spent hours in the bathroom. I’d discovered that staircases require core muscles both to ascend and descend and it hurt too much for me to use them. I’d waited too long, hoping my ‘tummy bug’ would go away on its own.

The hotel doctor came to my room, examined me and said what sounded like he could give me a posterior shot that would make the pain go away.

When he looked back up from his notes a second later, I was completely naked. Posterior? I was incapable of figuring out exactly where that was anymore. He could have given me a shot ANYWHERE.

So, I can understand pulling down your pants sans request for someone in the field of medicine. It’s their fault, really, and I hope they figure that out fairly soon after choosing the profession.

I also know that I’d have a lot of difficulty handling the sort of pain you have with such grace and spirit.

    I love your photos.

      Funny story!
And thank you … but I am often lacking in both grace AND spirit!
      : )
