Blue Ladybug Distress?

*  I will be at Knott’s Berry Farm shooting the pre-opening of Spring Fling this Saturday.  If you’re able to attend, I hope you’ll find me and say hello! *

People are funny.

That’s another way of saying,

What the hell, folks?

The other day I was  in a “mood.”

Some people would call it a creative mood.

Other people might call it a weird mood.

In any case, I felt like making a blue ladybug –

So I did.

I titled my blue ladybug photo Feeling Blue.

Everything about Feeling Blue made me smile.

At the same time,

I’ve been involved with photography long enough to know people, in general, don’t like photographers to mess with nature.

(Um, I’ll save my rant about dark rooms and photo editing for another day.)

But?

Guess what?

I FELT LIKE MAKING A BLUE LADYBUG PHOTO AND TITLING IT FEELING BLUE.

So I did.

Some people were very upset about my blue ladybug.

I don’t expect everyone to like every photo I take and/or make.

I don’t actually even CARE  (sorry!)  unless it’s a job I’m hired for.

I’m even used to getting flak over all sorts of weird things, because I work (in large part) on the Internet.

But, the distress caused by publishing a blue ladybug photo made me really wonder.

People …??

It’s just a BLUE LADYBUG!

Aren’t there bigger, more important, things to worry about?

I love ladybugs, and I adore that you made one blue. It’s part of being creative. It’s not like you’re documenting nature for posterity. You’re a creative person, and part of being creative is to look at things differently than what is normally seen (and you do that so well). Otherwise, your photos would look like everyone elses, and they don’t.

All I could think of was “A Blue Ladybug!?!? How cool is that? i didn’t know they came in Blue!

Really people? If ya got nothin’ nice to say, shut your trap! Suzanne is a creative person. An artist. SOME times they take creative liberties because they fell like it. Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Sheesh.

BTW, I LIKE Feeling Blue! 😀

    • Suzanne

Yes, several pair of panties in a bunch!
It must be very uncomfortable to live life like that …!

Wha – HUH? Really??? I’m with you – get a sense of perspective, people. It’s just a damn (really good) photo of a damn ladybug. Sheesh.

For the record…I like it. Quite a bit.

      Thank you, Jan.
Sometimes life is just about having FUN.
It’s sad when people lose sight of that.

I wonder if those people would stomp on a ladybug that hapened to be born a different color or pattern and consider it an abomination of some sort.

      Erica …
This comment is exactly why I love you so much!

People are weird. Art cannot be done by committee, so do what you do! (I love what you do, by the way.)
