Stormy Skies

I’ll have more to share about my trip “up the coast” soon.

(I’m still unpacking and uploading photos.)

I had a chance to see my long lost friend, Ben, while I was out of town.

We even had the opportunity to shoot some photos together.

It’s so nice to have him back in my life.

There are certain people in life who you “just know” you can always count on.

I was also really excited about the great weather while I visited.

It was hot, hot, hot on Friday – way hotter than it usually is in Santa Barbara.

(But, it was also spectacularly beautiful.)

Saturday was “normal” beach weather … coastal fog in the morning, followed by a beautiful afternoon and evening.

Yesterday?

I was SO excited to wake up to a storm rolling in.

I LOVE storms at the beach.

For sentimental reasons,

I particularly love storms in Santa Barbara.

I walked along the wind-whipped beach for hours.

Beach storms are exhilarating.

I feel like a missing piece of my soul was restored over the last few days.

I just wish I could have “played” for a few days longer.

Sigh …

I miss big, grand storms – you get them in north-central Texas quite a bit this time of year, but not so much in northeast Ohio. Just rain. (Don’t get me wrong, I love rain in the springtime because it makes the food my farmers grow, well, grow.)

I’d love to see a beach storm. That photo is spectacular.

      Thank you.
Southern California storms don’t usually involve much thunder or lightening. This one didn’t even have that much rain. But, the sea gets ANGRY and the wind whips the sea foam, sand, and palm trees into a fury. There’s so much emotion to it … I absolutely love watching and feeling it all.
