Orange County Summer

Our summers are different here than they are in many places.

Our weather is warm year round, but most of our “bad” weather tends to be at the beginning of the summer.

Gray May.

(Coastal fog)

June Gloom … which often lingers into the first half of July.

The fog primarily wraps itself around our beaches – until afternoons when it usually/hopefully burns off.

Sometimes the fog even stretches itself into the canyons during the mornings.

For me, it feels like summer is just beginning now.

(The best days of Orange County’s summers are usually mid-July through October.)

Even when we have morning fog, we have plenty of afternoon sunshine to keep everyone happy.

Personally, I tend to avoid the beaches as much as possible during the peak summer months.

I’m not a fan of crowds and/or tourists – unless, of course, the tourists are my friends.

I do spend some time at the beaches, but ….

I’m just as happy hiking around “my” canyon and/or hanging out in our backyard this time of year.

I feel lucky to have so much “nature” surrounding me.

And, I never seem to lack for company either.

We’re surrounded by nature, too, albeit of a different kind (I may post photos of The G Man playing in the sprinklers in our vegetable be-gardened back yard this week). I love the hummingbird photo.

    Thank you.
I’m very jealous of your garden! : )
