Five Weekend Images

Here’s are five images, and a little bit of information about them, from my weekend.

I had to laugh at this street sign.  Orange County is very “me” oriented.

(Especially in Newport Beach where I happened to see this slightly “altered” sign.)

I recently mentioned how termite fumigation killed all the plants on the perimeter of my house.

I have a lot of brown bushes/trees/plants right now.

I noticed this weekend a few of the “dead” plants are starting to sprout green leaves.

Maybe the root systems are still alive and some of them will survive after all?

I did a double take when I saw one particularly large, bright green, “leaf” on one of the dead plants.

It turned out to be a praying mantis.

I know they are “good” bugs, but they’re so big – they give me the heebie jeebies.

This particular one waved at me right after I took a photo of it.

I swear, it did.

I might have gasped out loud and run into the house.

And locked the door.

It was a(nother) hot weekend, so I decided to go for a walk at San Clemente State Park.

(It’s always cooler along the water.)

I took Mocha with me so she could get some exercise and have a chance to cool off too.

No Dogs On Beach

I saw the above sign on the tunnel leading to the water.

Some of our beaches allow dogs, and some don’t.

I decided to walk further down the path to get to a people-less area.

By walking a short distance further, I didn’t have to worry about anyone (lifeguards) kicking me off the beach.

Speaking of Mocha,

She (like all labs) has a very curious nose.

She couldn’t stop herself when I set some mums out on the porch.

There’s A Change In The Air

All in all, it was a nice weekend.

Even though September is always a hot month here, it’s feels like fall.

Because that is what fall is in Southern California -

Hot!

There are people who LOVE them!
I only know this, because a lot of people have told me since I posted that photo publicly. Personally, I’m sure they’re very nice bugs, but …!

HI Suzanne, how much is an appt with Paul Newman? My shoulder is really bad today. I’m hoping it will get better by itself but so far that has not happened. yesterday, we were at the stables and I was petting and talking to Donny, the pony. While i was petting him he threw back his head and my arm, that doesn’t go up all the way, went up all the way or as far as his head went. It feels like it is in the wrong place and needs to pop back in.
