Four Weekend Images

I like my latest Monday theme.

Images from the weekend –

Although, the number of images I share varies.

(Depending on whether or not the Emmys and/or Breaking Bad [Oh my!]  was on the night prior.)

First of all,

I’ve got a crush on the blue whales this year.

I know it probably sounds strange, but I feel like they’re speaking to me.

OK, so maybe they’re actually spouting at (not speaking to) me.

Regardless, I think they’re showing off a little closer to shore than usual this year.

I got a shot of a whale tail also,

I’ll share it soon.

It was a beautiful weekend in Orange County.

My camera and I went for a few walks.

The above photo was taken at Newport Back Bay.

So, was the next photo ….

The planes from Orange County airport take off right over the Back Bay.

I don’t usually take photos of planes, but this one looked so pretty.

(It matched the sky.)

Speaking of the sky,

The sunset was pretty amazing Saturday night.

And no, I don’t photoshop sunbeams into my photos.

(I know a lot of people do.)

In the above photo the sun was going down behind Southern California’s famous “marine layer” … which is weather-code for beach fog bank.

The sun rays were incredible.

Is that a creek? If so, I love it. It’s just so…pretty. And, I dunno, homey.

Can’t wait for the photo of the whale tail! More blues, or humpback this time?

The Back Bay in Newport is a delta connecting Newport Harbor and Upper Newport Bay. The area is an ecological reserve … lots of birds and a nice biking/walking trail.

Right now we have the blue whales.
The grays will arrive in the winter.
