Birthday Weekend Photos

I got home late yesterday.

Then, I went right back out to pick Mocha up from boarding.

My vacation “high” came to a screeching halt when our vet informed me something is wrong with Mocha.

Long story short, we (the vet and I) still don’t know what it is.

I do know she’s an older dog, and whatever it is – it isn’t good.

But, she’s home with me now and happy … tail wagging happy.

My heart is sad, but I’m grateful she is still with me and not in any pain.

I don’t know how long that will be the case, but … one day at a time, right?

Anyway,

Here are a few photos from the last few days up in the L.A. area.

I’ll have more to share in upcoming posts also.

I was in a hotel room with great views of both the ocean and the mountains.

This first photo was taken from one of my bedroom windows.

It was so beautiful.

I could be happy with a view like that forever.

Of course, I also had to take a “selfie” to commemorate my birthday.

I’m pretty sure I looked better the first time I turned twenty four, but a birthday’s a birthday.

And, being me, I also had to play with filters, and exposures, and motion, to make at least one or two surreal photos.

This particular photo was taken from the pier, looking back towards the beach and the city buildings.

I love the funkiness of beach towns.

One evening, I found myself up the coast in Malibu.

I knew I should be headed back to my hotel to get cleaned up for an evening out.

But, on the other hand, this was happening ….

I don’t have the willpower to turn my back on a beautiful sunset.

But, I bet you already knew that about me ….

I’m glad you had a great birthday weekend, but I’m so sorry to hear about Mocha. How awful for you, especially so soon after losing Doc.

      I know. : (
I cried the whole way home from the vet.
But …. maybe she will be around for longer than he thinks.

In the photo from the pier, nothing looks real but the beach.

      You’re right!
That’s the fun of playing with photography sometimes.
