Monday In The Bay Area

OK, let’s try again.

I managed to get a few photos ready to share.

They’re from Monday, my first day of *this* trip to the Bay Area.

Everybody loves cable cars, right?

What’s not to love …!

Thomas and I roamed around with our cameras.

We found ourselves at Mission San Francisco De Asis which is the oldest building in San Francisco.

We took photos in both the old and new chapels.

Photographers seem to take a lot of photos of each other ….

We also walked around the (very) old cemetery.

The graves prompted me to speculate about the lives of the dead people who are buried there.

You know someone is truly your friend when they humor your musings about people who have been dead for a couple hundred years.

Cemeteries are very cool in kind of a spooky, peaceful, creepy, beautiful, way.

I loved the apple trees in the cemetery.

We don’t have apple trees in Orange County so I was excited and surprised to find apples on the ground.

“Look!  Apples!!  We only have oranges and lemons!”

I get excited easily.

Next, we took a short drive to The Haight.

I never get tired of all the cool architecture in San Francisco.

I don’t get much opportunity to shoot graffiti in Orange County.

When I go places with Thomas we often photograph the graffiti wherever we are.

Here’s an example from Haight-Ashbury.

There’s a lot of weed smoking in The Haight.

I met a lot of really friendly people there too.

Maybe they were extra happy from all the weed?

I’m not sure, but everyone was very friendly, and talkative, and SO nice.

I’ll have more for you tomorrow ….!
