Seven Things I Like Lately

I slipped on some sandy-gravel-rocks and fell last weekend while hiking and “tweaked” my bum arm pretty hard.

(Of course, I was trying to “save” the camera from crashing on the rocks so my body took the hit instead.)

As a result, I’m pretty flared up and a bit drugged up too.

Paul Newman was a champ yesterday.

(He thinks drugged up me is very amusing?)

Hopefully, my pain level with start decreasing soon.

If not, I’m sure I’ll be paying Dr. Painless a visit.

It’s a little difficult to write a cohesive post when I’m in a pain fog.

Instead, I thought I’d share with you some things I like lately ….

•  The TV show The Blacklist.  I’m addicted.  I’ve been addicted since the first show aired.  (And I rarely watch TV!)

•  My clients.  I have several fabulously nice photography clients right now.  Work isn’t work when you’re working with great people.

•  Roasted vegetables.  OK, this might be a little weird but I’m on a serious roasted vegetable kick lately.

•  Abstract photography.  I haven’t been posting a ton of it, but I’ve really been enjoying making abstract art photos lately.

•  Owls.  “My” owl visits every single night when I go to bed.

It doesn’t even matter what time I go to bed – it’s like “he” knows and appears.

I’ve always liked owls, but now I’ve fallen in love with them.

 Maca.  This deserves an entirely separate post of its own.  (Coming soon – maybe even tomorrow!)

•  Wildflowers.  

We’ve had no winter, whatsoever, here.

I know we desperately need rain, but it’s hard not to enjoy all the flowers blooming.

    I just bought a bunch of different veggies at the store to roast and eat with either quinoa or brown rice for work lunches. I’m so tired of eating crappy frozen pre-made lunch stuff. I also have been researching maca, and added it to my amazon list. What have you been using it in? Has it given you more energy?

    I’m writing a whole post about maca, Judy, but here’s a few quick remarks.
    I’ve been adding mine to smoothies mainly.
    I’ve also tried it in yogurt and oatmeal.

    Yes, it definitely gives me more energy.
    I haven’t been taking it every day, and it’s my understanding it loses it’s effectiveness if you take it every single day. A lot of people suggest 3 weeks on, 1 week off.

    Just started adding Red Maca root powder to my morning green drink…and I have to say…it’s an energy powerhouse!!! Can’t wait for your post on it!
