Stream of Consciousness

This has been an odd week, for an assortment of reasons.

•  I’m working on a photography-related project for a friend most of this week.

•  Paul Newman decided this week was the week to attempt a baby step forward with my arm.  I was both happy and nervous about this change.

•  Was the baby step a success?  I don’t know.  I’m very sore from trying something new.  (But, that doesn’t mean it isn’t good for me.)

•  Also?  It’s pretty pathetic how such a microscopic small, teeny-tiny, baby step can be such a BIG THING in the world of my arm.

•  About a week ago, Paul Newman got some of my super tight neck muscles to relax.  It was so awesome, I might have asked him to marry me and have ten babies.

•  He laughs at me a lot.

•  I bought new towels.  This shouldn’t be a big deal, but they’re the first new bath towels I’ve bought in decades.  I’m afraid to use them because they look SO nice compared to the ones I’ve had for a bazillion years.

•  The new towels are white.  (!!!)

•  Is their a scientific name for New Towel Anxiety?

•  There’s been a very loud owl who-whoing on my deck every night.  It isn’t unusual to hear owls where I live, but this one has been exceptionally persistent, keeping me awake night after night.  Two nights ago, I sat by my bedroom window in the dark and watched him.  He’s a big horned owl.  (Very big!!)  He knew I was watching, of course.  He can see much better in the dark than I can.  I didn’t attempt to take his photo because I knew he would fly away if I clicked a shutter.

•  While I’m editing photos, I frequently have my little aromatherapy machine working.  It helps me “get in the mood” for editing.

•  I will be in L.A. this weekend, for both work and fun.  I’m looking forward to a temporary change in environment.  I’ll be staying at The Huntley again since they were so amazing to me last time I was there.  It’s also in a pretty awesome location – lots of great stuff within walking distance.

•  I’ve been very Healthy-Habit motivated lately.  I just bought new vitamins and a couple supplements.  (I’m still Vitamin D deficient even though I’m in the sunshine a lot and take a supplement.  It was suggested I try a different brand of supplement to see if my body will absorb it better.)  A few of my friends have been on “health kicks” lately.  Maybe everyone made New Year resolutions?  I’ll share the new things I’m trying in a separate post.

Have a fun weekend. Erik’s doc suggested a specific brand of D that is expensive and you can only get at the health food store. Ack. Supposedly it absorbs better. It better at the much higher price.
Wishing you good luck with the new pt work and the new relationship with the owl. I love the sounds of owls at night, but one right outside my house could make for sleepless nights.
I LOVE LINENS. I could have new linens every single month, but I don’t.

      Denise,
If you have time I’d love to know what brand. I may end up trying a few before I find one that works for me.
I love owls, but you’re right … perched right outside my bedroom window isn’t the best place for one.

Owl visiting you is awesome! If any of this resonates, wonderful, if not, no worries! In any case, this is a wonderful sign for you. Owl is about Transformation and Changes, Wisdom. Look for the positive, the truth and the benefits in any coming changes instead of going into fear. I love Owl!
*Denise Linn/The Secret Language of Signs:
This is a very significant sign, as the owl is a powerful symbol of transformation. If this sign appears for you, there is probably a transformation coming into your life. The owl sign represents death (not literally!) and rebirth within your life. The owl sees in the darkness what others cannot see. If this sign appears for you, you are being given the gift of being able to see and perceive the truth. You will gain the ability to see clearly where things may seem dark. Your insights will be keen, and the transformations around you will be profound.
If Owl is your personal medicine, no one can deceive you about what they are doing, no matter how they try to disguise or hide it from you. You may be a little frightening to be around, since so many people have ulterior motives which you see right through. If you are unaware of your medicine power, you may take your keen insights and abilities for granted. Others never do. You may frighten them and reflect their blindness, for you cannot be fooled. Owl medicine people know more about an individual’s inner life than that person knows about herself or himself.
You are being asked to use your powers of keen, silent observation to intuit some life situation. Owl is befriending you and aiding you in seeing the total truth. Owl can bring you messages in the night through dreams or meditation. Pay attention to the signals and omens. The truth always brings further enlightenment.

      Love all the owl info!
I love hearing stuff like that.
BTW, I do happen to have very keen insights!
