World Weary

Do you ever wish you could take an extended vacation,

Possibly for a year or two?

Yesterday, I decided I’m tired of everything.

I’m tired of hearing about radiation from Japan affecting us in California.

I’m tired of nonstop weather alerts about the upcoming (omigod!) inch or two of rain.

(As the rest of the world laughs at Southern California going beserk over the possibility of a little rainfall.)

I’m tired of war in Afghanistan.

I’m tired of discrimination against people based on who they love.

(I’m talking to YOU Arizona.)

I’m tired of self-righteous people.

I’m tired of politicians.

I’m tired of so many good people facing overwhelming difficulties.

My passion has been my photography,

And it continues to be.

But as my business has grown I find myself wondering if the headaches of owning my own business are really worth it.

(I seem to go through this same debate every year as tax season approaches.)

I think I need a dose of happy.

Or maybe I just need a vacation so I can escape the real world for awhile.

I do have a couple mini-trips coming up in a few weeks.

But maybe, just maybe, I can find a way to sneak away for a night or two before then.

Do you have any happy news to share?

If so, I’d love to hear it – even if it’s just a small, tiny, bit of happy.

I’ve got HOURS of computer work ahead of me this week,

So please

Brighten my day and share a little bit of happy in the comments section.

My cat turned 20 today and the vet said she’s in great shape. You know, for someone with cataracts, arthritis and chronic renal failure! So there’s hope for us all, even in the bottom of the Slough of Despond, which I’m betting is a familiar enough location for each of us from time to time. Especially with tax returns looming…

Congratulations to both you and your cat!
20 is a pretty amazing feat!

First….I love the photo in this post!!! My bit of happy….my son, who is blind and dealing with unique challenges as a junior in a demanding engineering program, just received an award from the regional group of professional engineers. He rocks!

My little grandson who is 19 months old called me from his dad’s phone started babbling and trying to talk to me when I answered and then hung up on me. It made me laugh and made my morning 🙂

      Awwww!
How nice to have a baby in your life.
Babies are wonderful and make everyone smile!

The rain will bring green to our hills and give us a chance to see some beautiful California wildflowers. I hope it’s right around the time my sister comes to visit!!!! Yay!!!!!

    • Suzanne

Yes, the rain is a good thing.
We aren’t going to get nearly as much here as what you’ll see Denise, but I’m still looking forward to it.

How about some laughter…??? Have you seen the recent magazines/tabloids in the check lane at the grocery stores??? KK’s rear-end?? hahaha. My Mom and I just about rolled on the floor in line at the register and the guy in front of us kept starring and then he finally joined in on the laughter too!!

    • Suzanne

I will make a point of checking out the tabloids next time I’m at the grocery store.
I can only imagine the butt news.
I honestly don’t get all the butt love???

Happy. That’s how I felt when Governor Jan Brewer vetoed SB 1062 today! 🙂
