Mellow Monday?

Hello, hello!

Over the weekend, we got four inches of rain at my house in about 24 hours.

Yes, we need rain.

But …?

My house has some resulting water damage so that part sucks.

(Maybe the rain could come at a more gradual pace?)

I don’t get the chance to shoot storms (or rain) very often,

On Saturday and Sunday, I took full advantage of the “bad” weather.

My camera and I played in puddles, with water reflections, with clouds, etc., etc.

I had SO much fun!

I’ll have more photos to share with you soon.

In the meantime, I’m immersed behind my computer sceen – working on a project for a corporate client.

Also, my arm is exceedingly pissed off at me, so that’s always lots of … fun??

(I’ve got a call into Dr. Painless already, but I think he might be out of town this week.)

On an Unrelated to Everything Else Tangent, Matthew McConnaughy won the Oscar for Best Actor last night and I was very happy about that.

It absolutely amazes me to watch the Academy Awards and see women who are thirty years older than me look twenty years younger than me.

At some point, I think it must be painful … not to be able to move your face at all,

And having a neck so tight it looks like a viagra commercial,

And having every part of your body nipped, tucked, and covered in thick body makeup.

But …?

I suppose all that pressure to be “perfect” comes with Celebrity Territory and The Big Buck Salary?

Personally, I think it’s much more fun to make pictures while playing in mud puddles.

I LOVED THE RAIN! Our hills are turning green and everything is fresh again. We had over 5 inches at our house with crazy winds whipping around. I drove to the coast on Saturday to see the BIG surf, some waves between 20-25 feet, like I’ve never seen. Awesome is an overused word, but it truly was. I hope you feel better soon.

The waves have been huge. Sadly, I’ve heard we need another five storms as big as the last to get us “caught up” to normal rain levels. It’s not impossible, but it’s not likely.

SO much more fun to take pictures and play in mud puddles! Or fail at making a loaf of sourdough bread, but hey – we can always try again, yes?

I didn’t even look at the Oscars last night – I spent all my time talking to my kids. That, too, is tons more fun.

yes, it’s always worth trying again.

Talking to our kids is one of the best things ever!

Bill Murray is younger than Sally Field… wild. I really have no idea how much is surgery and how much is due to something else, i wonder how the next generation of screen idols plans to age.

We had snow, but far less than expected.

It’s pretty safe to assume that “everyone” on TV has had multiple surgeries because they all do. Living in Southern California, we are used to seeing it – but the Hollywood crowd takes it to the extreme.

Yay for Matthew McConnaughy and ugh at some of the others in attendance!!

I noticed that Bette Midler is looking positively asian. She must have had a lot of work done.
