I apologize in advance –
It’s too hot to talk about anything except how hot it is.
Last summer, we had record breaking heat here in Southern California.
Then we had no winter.
And now …?
We’re back to having record breaking heat.
And hurricane force Santa Ana winds (at least in some of the canyons).
Or should I say, at least in the canyon where I live?
I bet it makes all of the people who had a brutal winter feel a smidgen better to know weather can be brutal in Southern California too?
I’m tired of the heat, but I can handle it.
(Temperatures are supposed to return to the 80’s this upcoming weekend.)
The winds create a huge mess and make me sneeze, but I can handle the wind too.
What I hate is the smoke.
The air around my home looked like L.A. on the smoggiest of days yesterday.
(There are a lot of fires close enough to affect the air quality where I live.)
Skies were a little clearer at the beach, but regardless – my lungs are protesting.
Smoke from fires has always really affected me.
My respiratory system just can’t handle it.
Hopefully, the winds will shift (or stop) soon and I’ll be able to breathe again.
And all the fires?
Hats off to the fire fighters who, without question, have the most miserable working conditions imaginable this week.
