The Second Weekend In May

My youngest son arrived home for the summer midday on Saturday.

Of course, his arrival made my heart very happy.

I acted very mom-ish and made him a great dinner that night to welcome him home.

(He tells me he’s very tired of college cafeteria food.)

Sunday was a beautiful day here weather-wise.

I had Mother’s Day “linner” in Laguna with two of my three kids.

It was very nice.

The day ended with a long walk along the beach.

The city of Laguna Beach was packed with visitors.

I usually try to avoid holidays at our local beaches for that very reason.

(No offense visitors, I just prefer less crowded conditions.)

But, in spite of the crowds, it was wonderful.

Warm weather, breezy, perfectly clear skies and breathtaking views –

What’s not to love?

Happy Mother’s Day, Suzanne! I was down in Laguna as well, from around 5-6:30. It was so crowded, we left earlier than planned. I can’t believe the crowds that were there, it was overwhelming. Totally windy as well. Oh well, I got my gelato and a walk along the beach, what else could you ask for? Hope your day was wonderful. 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
The crowds in Laguna were astounding.
I’ve never seen it like that – but then, I usually avoid holidays at the beach.
The gelato line when we walked by was a mile long … we decided to save that for a different day.
I was just happy to have 2 of my 3 with me for the afternoon!

We brought The Young One home Friday.

I asked him, “How does breakfast for dinner sound?”

With a pitiful look on his face, he replied, “Pretty @#$%ing awesome, actually.”

      Awww …!
      They are so sweet.
One of the greatest benefits of a kid going to college is how appreciative it makes them of their parents and what they’ve grown up with.
      Truly.
