My name is Suzanne.
I live in Orange County, California, and I’m between the ages of 35 and dead.
This blog, Twenty Four At Heart, has been awarded as a top humor blog. It’s also a highly ranked Baby Boomer blog.
A lot of people also consider it a photography blog.
Maybe I’m a funny, old, photographer?
I think, perhaps, it’s better not to define me.
I’m married. I have three kids. I rarely write about my family.
Ten years ago, I was in a serious car accident and lost the use of my right arm. I’m right handed … so, bummer! The accident occurred when Asshole ran a stop sign and t-boned my car on the driver’s side, spinning the car a full 360 degrees on impact. I’ve gone through twelve surgeries, and basically pure hell, since then. I now have about 30% use of my right arm. I had electrodes implanted in my arm and shoulder, a battery/charger to control them inside my abdomen, and I often refer to myself as The Bionic Woman. My bum arm frequently “pops off” my body. It’s excruciating. (The medical term for this is “shoulder subluxation.”) I am under the ongoing care of a physical therapist (Paul Newman).
I frequently mention Fred, my giant-breed (!!) service dog. Fred is a Newfoundland. Newfoundlands have tons of fur and they drool a LOT. Fred is my constant companion. Fred has a “baby brother” named Frank. Frank is also a Newfoundland, but he is a pet not a service dog.
If you want to know more about my accident, or resulting disability, you can read what I wrote on the two year anniversary of the accident by clicking here.
If you want to know where my life was, eight years post-accident, you can read about it here.
As a result of the car accident, it took me over three years to hold a DSLR camera again. I am now one of the only “one-armed” photographers in the world. (In reality, I DO have two arms – but only one of them actually works the way an arm is supposed to!)
My passion for photography is a huge driving force in my life.
My photos have been featured and/or highlighted on an international level by a lot of cool people (and places) (and media forums) over the last few years.
My photography can be found hanging in homes and offices around the world.
Hundreds of thousands of people “tune in” on social media to see my day to day shots.
Isn’t that the coolest thing ever?
My photos are available for sale via the Photography button in the navigation bar at the top of my blog.
I’m a Platinum Level member of Canon Professional Services. (CPS)
In a former life I was a manager at a Fortune 500 company. I’ve also worked in advertising and public relations.
I’m currently a full time (one-armed) photographer, and a part-time blogger.

But not always.
It’s all very iffy stuff. I don’t decide what topics I’m going to blog about based on affilitate relationships. Nor do I ever endorse products I don’t believe in.
