My name is Suzanne.

I live in Orange County, California, and I’m between the ages of 35 and dead.

This blog, Twenty Four At Heart, has been awarded as a top humor blog.  It’s also a highly ranked Baby Boomer blog.

A lot of people also consider it a photography blog.

Maybe I’m a funny, old, photographer?

I think, perhaps, it’s better not to define me.

I’m married to Briefcase.  He’s a business executive and travels frequently.  I have three kids.  I rarely write about my family.

I live right next door to a very affluent community which I refer to in my writing as “Money Town”.  Money Town is the same community the TV show The Real Housewives of Orange County originated from.  Money Town provides a lot of humorous writing material for me.  I’m a 5th generation California native.  The beach (and the lifestyle of Southern California) is in my blood.

Six and a half years ago I was in a serious car accident and lost the use of my right arm.  I’m right handed … so, bummer!  The accident occurred when Asshole ran a stop sign and t-boned my car on the driver’s side, spinning the car a full 360 degrees on impact.  I’ve gone through eight nine surgeries, and basically pure hell, since then.  I now have about 20% use of my right arm.  I had electrodes implanted in my arm and shoulder, a battery/charger to control them inside my abdomen, and I often refer to myself as The Bionic Woman.  I am under the ongoing care of a pain management specialist (Dr. Painless), and a physical therapist (Paul Newman).

As a result of the car accident, it took me over three years to hold a DSLR camera again.  I am now one of the only “one-armed” photographers in the world.  (In reality, I DO have two arms – but only one of them actually works the way an arm is supposed to!)

My passion for photography is a huge driving force in my life.  I’ve been thrilled to repeatedly be included on Thomas Hawk’s famed “Kick Ass Photographers” list.  Some of my beach photos have been featured in the Huffington Post.

In a former life I was a manager at a Fortune 500 company.  I’ve also worked in advertising and public relations.

I’m currently a (one-armed) photographer, and a blogger.
