I’m celebrating FINALLY getting this photography blog/page up and running.
To thank you for your patience, and to welcome those of you who are new here, I’m hosting some giveaways this week!
Winners to this week’s contests/giveaways will be picked randomly and announced on Wednesday, October 10th.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 Software is a “must have” in my work-flow.
It’s a very simple, easy to use, software.
It’s the greatest tool available for organizing and streamlining photos.
It allows you to make simple edits to digital files – like lightening up shadow areas and/or toning down highlights.
(And yes, it’s easy to use with Photoshop if you’re so inclined.)
How do I use Lightroom?
I import my photos directly from my flash card to Lightroom.
Lightroom allows me to sort photos by event, by date, by keywords – whatever way I want.
I make quick, minor, edits to photos when they need it.
For instance, I can quickly straighten a slightly “off” horizon line, tone down a too-bright highlight, or lighten up shadow areas.
In addition, there are a lot of free presets available online for Lightroom.
Lightroom presets can give a quick “look” to your photos.
With presets you can press one button to convert your photo to black and white, or another for an “antique” look, or yet another for a highly saturated look.
If you’ve never used Lightroom before, you’ll be amazed at what a big difference very light editing can make to your images.
If you’re new to digital photography and the idea of photo software is intimidating, let me assure you this is easy stuff!
I’m giving away one copy of Lightroom.

P.S. Entries are still open on yesterday’s post if you’re interested in possibly winning a photography/travel vest.
