I've been hesitant to write too much about my trip to Chicago because I don't want to bore you to tears.  In addition, I remember last year when I had just begun blogging and everywhere I turned on the Internet (for weeks) was Blah, Blah, BlogHer Conference.  It got old.  At the same time, several of you have emailed or tweeted with questions.  I decided I'll use today to answer some of those random questions and give you a few snippets about the conference and then tomorrow I'll move on.

Were there many hot men to hang out with?

There were a few.

(I just noticed my cleavage in that picture.  How did that happen?  See what I mean?  It always sneaks out on it's own!)

Why is your hair so blonde?

I had it lightened to show off the pink streaks.  Next time I get it cut I'll have them put dark in it to return it to my natural shade of blonde.

Did you have fun at BlogHer?

Yes, but it was exhausting.

Would you go again?

I am going again.  I already have my ticket to attend next year on August 6th and 7th in New York City.

What did it feel like to meet people in person who you've known online for a long time?

It felt great!  A lot of squealing went on when a lovely lady said, "Hey Twenty Four I'm Vodka Mom!"

Are you and Undomestic Diva really related?

IMG_1727

Yes, she's my niece and she's adorable.  We did tequila shots one night.  I think.  It's all a little fuzzy.  Oh – and breakfast/coffee at Starbucks together one morning.

Did you actually learn anything while you were there?

Yes, yes I did.

Were the parties as fun and crazy as everyone says they are?

I'll be honest.  I'm not really a party person.  I'd rather be with a small group of friends than at a large, crowded, party any day.  The BlogHer parties were large and VERY crowded and also very loud.  Conversation was next to impossible.  I went to most of them.  I made the rounds.

[I wonder who that is under the burger bag hat?]

After short visits to the parties I frequently left with a couple friends to sit and chat over a glass of wine.  It's just who I am.  I'm introverted.  I'm shy.  I liked being out on the walkway by the river.  At night the city lights up and the lights are reflected in the water.  It's beautiful.  It's even better with a few friends and some great conversation.

Did you get a lot of free stuff (swag) from corporate sponsors?

Yes.  I gave most of mine away.  It wasn't important to me, but I do appreciate the fact that companies are acknowledging the growing Internet audience.

Was there a lot of drama going on with all those women together in one spot?

I've heard there was drama going on, but I steered clear.  Life is what you make it and I chose to have a drama-free trip to Chicago.

Did you flash your boobs while you were there?

No, not even once.  I did take a clothed boob photo with Mr.Lady.  The two of us did a prolonged chest bump.  I think she liked it!  (I know I did.)

If you had to pick your favorite moment of the entire conference, what would it be?

Visiting with friends on Sunday evening, my last night there.  At that point almost everyone had left and gone home.  Four of us just relaxed and talked for hours.  It was the perfect ending to a hectic few days.

I’m with you and would have steered clear of the larger gatherings…. I think many of we bloggers have a bit of the ‘shy factor’ in us. Glad you enjoyed yourself, but still not enough to ever convince me to attend.

Boredom certainly shortens lifespans, but you 24, are going to have a very loooong life!

It sounds like it can be fun if you go with a couple of people you actually know, even via blogging. I’m shy too, and the idea seems overwhelming but very tempting.
    Loved your hair!

For those of us not lucky enough to attend, do you know of a place we can go to get a brief synopsis of what ya’ll learned at the conference? Just curious.

I loved meeting you! And, I’m so jealous that you got to stay in Chicago for an extra day!

I am much more a few people and wine person than a big large party person too. After years of cocktailing my way through college in a loud nightclub, all I hear is white noise in a large, loud venue.
LOVE the photo of you and Vodka.

It was amazing! And YOU are a real genuine, lovely, beautiful person.
It was an honor for ME to meet YOU.
Now, can’t you PHOTOSHOP my arms for God’s sake???
    haha

Great pics — looks like a lot of fun. Was it me or was Ronald McDonald really that hot in real life?

Hi! I hope you remember me, we met during Speed Dating. You told me that this was your first BlogHer and all the Tweets suggested that you had a wonderful time and met some of the best people on the Internet, if not the planet. Yay!
If you’re ever up in Northern California, give me a shout-out and we can meet up for coffee and Twittering.
    Many blessings, Grace

Ahhhh, it sounds lovely. And you look lovely! I’ve been wavering back and forth about whether or not I should have gone, then I look at the pics of all those terribly thin people and am glad I didn’t go.
    I’m awful, I know.

I’m glad you had a nice time. I think it’s awesome you were able to meet and get to know some of your favorite bloggers. I’m like you. Scensory overload & big crowds are not my thing.
You look HAWT btw. Thanks for sharing!!!!

You and your boobs looked great. I was asked at blogher@home who would I have sought out to meet and I said you and churchpunkmom. :)
I would like to go next year but I am not sure if I can swing it. Looks like you had a great time and glad you stayed away from the drama.

I enjoyed it vicariously through others such as you – thanks for sharing – pics were great u and ur boobs! Love it. I’d love to go to next year’s but it’s too far out for me to plan and contrary to popular belief I don’t do well in crowds even though I’m an extreme extrovert. Odd. Cheers!

I wouldn’t have guessed that you didn’t like the party scene so much… But, then again, I was probably too busy schmoozing and talking and drinking and laughing to notice. ;) But I did feel blessed to get to spend time with you among all the chaos of so many parties. xoxox

It was great meeting you. Maybe I’ll see you again next year. I had a nice time at the conference. I did keep my swag because I have two small girls and most of it was directed right at them. The best part for me was meeting people I have known online for years and never met in person.

Aw, your favorite moments were also mine. :) I’m just now reading some of the recaps…I never do until after I’ve finished writing mine.
Makes total sense that I dig you immensely, since your niece also rocks my socks. (And word on the street is she’s going to be on my radio show in 2 weeks…cough, cough.)
Sunday night was awesome. Just the four of us hanging outside for hours. *sigh* I wish I could have taken you home with me. In a totally platonic way, of course.
    You amuse me. :)
