Welcome to Twenty Four At Heart!
My name is Suzanne. I am a forty-something woman living in Orange County, California. I live right next door to a very affluent community which I refer to in my writing as "Money Town". Money Town is the same community that the TV show The Real Housewives of Orange County originated from. Money Town provides a lot of humorous writing material for me. I am a 5th generation California native. The beach and the lifestyle of Southern California is in my blood. I enjoy sharing and making fun of the OC lifestyle with my readers.
I am shy in group settings, but not at all once you get to know me. I say what's on my mind and people know where they stand with me. The one thing I never am is fake. I love deeply, cherish my friends for life (whether they want me to or not), and will not hesitate to let those I care about know when they piss me off. I write about any and everything that sparks my interest. It seems like there is never a shortage of writing topics with my crazy life!
I am married to Briefcase. He is a business executive and travels frequently. I have three kids. I occasionally mention them, but this is far from a mommy blog.
Three years ago I was in a serious car accident and lost the use of my right arm. I am right handed ... so, bummer! The accident occurred when Asshole ran a stop sign and t-boned my car on the driver's side, spinning the car a full 360 degrees on impact. I have gone through five six surgeries and basically pure hell since then. Things seem to finally be improving somewhat . . . meaning I am no longer sobbing in pain every single day. I often refer to "PT" in my blog because I still go to rehab (physical therapy) several hours each week. I also occasionally mention The Torturer who is my physical therapist. If you want to know more about my accident or resulting disability you can click here.
I am currently not employed. My job is my rehab for the time being. In a former life I was a manager at a Fortune 500 company. I have also worked in advertising and public relations.
I love to hear from my readers. Feel free to leave comments. If you need to reach me regarding a topic other than a particular post you may contact me at: TwentyFourAtHeart@yahoo.com

I've really enjoyed your blog. I noticed it in the blogroll of Midlife Slices and stopped by. I would think your torturer worked at my gym if we weren't on different coast. Do you think he's bi-coastal?

We have a friend who actually lost his arm in a freak woodcutting accident, right up at the shoulder. He was right-handed, too, and had to learn how to do everything left-handed. It's amazing at how adept he is at even tying shoes! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment...it's always so nice to hear from a new reader. And isn't blogging the best?! My daughter got me started a few years ago and I'd be lost without it.

Just found your blog..always wondered what life is like on the West Coast, and like your reader above, I am also 40 something and live on the East Coast..and cannot imagine NOT living within a few miles of the water. And I don't mean a lake or a pond. I like your sense of humor, will follow along...

Just found your blog via the coverage of George (i am an admitted newfie dog snob, they are the best). I loved your pics and commentary of the event. I also, just turned 40, was in a car accident almost identical to what yours sounded like, 4 years ago, and am still working on recovery. And just starting my own blog, so this is encouraging. Grew up on the west coast (northern CA), but have been marooned in CO and NM for the last 7 years. All those pics of the sea and the dog's day at the beach completely lifted my spirits. I'm hoping to get back to the coast soon. Thanks for writing!

You have some great ideas for marketing, nifty lingo, and a lot in common with ME! I am an amateur photographer, live in Cali and post my photo's on redbubble. I also have the pro account for shutterfly (good idea for sharing/buying options) I'm going to follow that one, if you don't mind.
By the way, how did you create the button? Perhaps if you tell me how, I can create one myself. We can swap buttons per site.
My blog is dedicated to the creative personality. I continue to find other talented artists and photographers for which to connect with.
Thanks for sharing
